Learning How To Play:
Seriously? Really? REALLY?....Do we really have to tell people how to play? Well, oddly enough my friends, the answer is yes. You see, it seems there is a growing sickness in the CATIA (and possibly the CAD world in general). The sickness is called "seriousness". All work, and no play. Slowly but surely, we will work our way in to the hearts of the engineers in this world, and get them excited about design on an artistic level again. With this, we will only be able to design bigger, better, faster, stronger, and safer things. The idea behind this thought is best explained by the following quote:
"Aeroplanes are not designed by science, but by art in spite of some pretence and humbug to the contrary. I do not mean to suggest that engineering can do without science, on the contrary, it stands on scientific foundations, but there is a big gap between scientific research and the engineering product which has to be bridged by the art of the engineer."
- British Engineer to the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1922.
